The 6th June, 1944. A day etched in history. A day that forever changed the course of humanity. As the sun rose over the shores of Normandy, the world witnessed the unwavering bravery of those who stormed the beaches, facing the full fury of war.
For many, it was their first taste of combat, yet they marched forward with the hope of a better tomorrow. They were sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers-ordinary men called upon to do extraordinary things.
For those who survived, the memories of that day remain vivid, etched into their souls like scars. The roar of cannons, the deafening sound of gunfire, the cries of fallen comrades-echoes of a past that shaped their lives forever. As we commemorate the 80th anniversary, we honour not only the heroes who fought, but also the countless lives lost in the pursuit of freedom. We stand in awe of their courage and resilience, humbled by their sacrifices. This is the story of D-Day.
